"Solo Guitar Playing" is the concept utilizing classical-fingerstyle techniques that enables solo renditions of harmony and polyphonic music in much the same manner as the piano can. One can play a variety of styles, including "CLASSICAL, JAZZ, FUNK, LATIN, BLUES, ROCK, R&B and “OTHER" that can be arranged for "Solo Guitar Playing".
About Richard Medel
While well versed in traditional jazz, classical guitar (bebop and post-bop), Medel draws from a variety of American music forms such as jazz fusion, funk, soul, R&B and blues.
After receiving a full-ride scholarship in classical guitar from the Sherwood Conservatory of Music, Chicago, Illinois, n/k/a as Columbia College of Chicago, Medel joined both the Classical and Jazz Guitar Faculty at age 24 as an Adjunct Professor where he continued to teach for 8 1/2 years along side DePaul University Professor Richard Pick.
